Fairfield Street (and the surrounding streets) had a block party on Saturday night. One of the neighbors got the city of Cambridge to shut down our street, and then spearheaded a potluck dinner. It brought back fond memories of childhood block parties on Oak Knoll Terrace, and was also a lovely way to meet all the neighbors. There are far more children than we realized (they had an impromptu parade partway through), and we met a number of nice people we can now say hello to on the sidewalk. By the time we'd been standing and chatting for over 4 hours, we were pretty tired, but it was very nice to connect with everyone. Here's a photo of our house, courtesy of the city assessor's office.
